The "Formal" Bio

Paul Perron is an Oil & Gas industry Risk-Based Inspection (RBI), Damage Mechanisms and PCMS/PCMS RBI subject matter expert (SME) with over 25 years of experience, including:

• Serving as an owner-user Area Inspector at one of the United States' largest oil refineries (Sunoco, Philadelphia), overseeing run & maintain activities as well as turnaround planning across two crude units, two vacuum units, and a sat gas unit.

• As a turnaround pressure vessel inspector, gaining valuable hands-on experience by performing internal API-510 inspections on most types of refining and petrochemical pressure and non-pressure equipment.

• Leading as a Department Manager and Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) and Damage Mechanisms for the world-renowned PCMS RBI Implementation Group within Mistras Group's PCMS Software & Services Division. Between operating within this capacity and prior to joining Mistras Group, he has assessed via RBI methodology in the tens of thousands of pressure vessels and process piping systems.

• Fulfilling the role of a PCMS RBI Consultant for Mistras' PCMS Software & Services Division, where he has empowered facilities across the globe--within sectors ranging from refining, petrochemical and LNG to fertilizer production (ammonia synthesis and supporting processes) and mining--by guiding them through tailoring and configuring their PCMS RBI modules for optimal and flexible inspection planning while still adhering to local regulations.

He holds API-510, API-580 & API-571 certifications from the American Petroleum Institute, and has additionally taught himself programming and SQL Server database skillsets to create software tools which eliminate between 12-32% of manual PCMS RBI implementation tasks (depending on whether piping system recircuitization and restructuring is in scope).

Currently, Paul is leveraging his expertise at Larsen & Toubro Technology Services, a leading entity in the oil & gas sector with an annual revenue surpassing one billion US dollars. As their PCMS RBI SME, he is instrumental in bringing success to one of their projects which is one of the single largest oil refining RBI implementation initiative in RBI history.
